This series was inspired by the Japanese ‘sanbiki no saru’ popularly known as the three wise monkeys. These monkeys usually relate to proverbs associated with being good in mind, speech and action. The little girl in me remembers that sex was something taboo. To remain good, I was not to speak of it, listen to talk of it, and cover my eyes at the sight of it. So, if some part of my sexual being felt violated, what was I to do? Although, I never experienced anything severely traumatizing, the pre-teen in me remembers the sexually driven stares and overt comments that I got from older men, and being threatened by my brother’s teen-aged friend that I dare not tell anyone that he felt on my ass. With lingering thoughts of his cold hands grabbing on my behind and too embarrassed to tell my mother, big brother, sister or even a friend, the good girl in me kept quiet, but never forgot. Had I used my voice, perhaps we both would have learned a valuable lesson. This work is for all the good girls whether 5 or 95, SCREAM EVIL!
